Anti-French Humour and the Clorox Company

For over a month now, the Clorox Company had aired a commercial for its product called « Liquid PlumR ». It depicts an attractive young couple having an intimate conversation in French in a restaurant at night…

All of a sudden, falling from the sky onto their table is what looks like a pile of matted hair and other clogged and decomposed matter. The young couple of course is very upset and demands an explanation from the staff of the restaurant.

The commercial then takes us back to the United States where a middle-aged couple are in their bathroom, and have successfully unclogged their lavatory sink. One of them and asks: “I wonder where it went?”. The answer of course according to the commercial: “far away.”

We have contacted the Clorox Company about this ad but received no response.
